Insurance Information

Services for insurance companies outside of the above listed accepted insurance companies may possibly compensate you for your treatment. I will supply, upon request a bill with the information insurance companies will require for reimbursement and you can submit this directly to them.

Things to Consider When Using Insurance

You should be aware of the implications and losses in privacy that come with using insurance to cover mental health therapy. To be covered by insurance, therapeutic services must be considered medically necessary. Therefore, in the majority of cases, a “mental illness diagnosis” is required.

If you go to an in-network provider, insurance companies may require the therapist to provide detailed treatment plans, treatment progress updates, and may also occasionally request detailed client records. The information provided to insurance companies may be stored in databases and may be accessible to other insurers. Just like any other medical condition, it has the potential to affect the cost or eligibility for insurance in the future.

Because of the private and personal nature of psychotherapuetic work, many clients prefer to pay privately to keep their therapy records truly confidential. However, for those that choose to use insurance, I do provide them with documentation required to process the claim. Also, keep in mind that sometimes the co-payment may be as high as my cash pay, therefore using your insurance benefit would be your choice.
